This site was launched on April 12, 2006.
I wanted a place to log my rides, and the domain was readily available. Early site plans included individual rider weblogs, discussion forums and a photo gallery to upload memories.
Writing on a weblog sure beats using a logbook, since I can’t seem to find any of my old ones, they must be in a box somewhere. And even if I found them, it’s just full of numbers with very little notes to speak of.
On here, I can write about what I saw, how I felt, what the weather was like. Little tidbits of information to jog my memory many years into the future.
Who knows, one day I may find the time to realize the original site plan. Or then again I may be biking in Colorado and the content on this domain moves to another.
For now, I’ll keep logging my miles, my average speed and my thoughts here. For nothing else but to say I did it!
Thanks to the Charlotte city workers for keeping the trails clear and level all year round. The city has grand plans for all the trails to connect one day, a crown made of nature paths for the Queen City. Ooh, I can’t wait for the ceremony.
